(When Charlotte asked Bob what he was doing in Tokyo)
Bob: Can you keep a secret? I'm trying to organize a prison break. We have to first get out of this bar, then the hotel, then the city, and then the country. Are you in or you out?
Charlotte: I'm in.
...
(When Bob asked Charlotte what she was)
Charlotte: I just don't know what I'm supposed to be.
Bob: You'll figure that out. The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you.

i love lost in translation - it's one of my favourite movies :) i think sofia coppola did an excellent job there. scarlett johansson is my favourite "it" actress - i think it's her voice...
Yah! The script, cinematography and music are really good - and the themes of lost and finding oneself and others were handled very well too e.g. the openimg scene which is so private has the character emotionally lost, whereas the last closing scene which is in a public place has the character more sure of herself. Wonderfully written script! Looking fwd to Sofia Coppola's next movie! : )
i love the music, but otherwise, hated the movie - an obnoxious film that gave all its sensitiveness to the american characters and left the stereotypes to the japanese.
One of those movies where the music defined the film, IMO. Hypnotic & surreal...Loved the soundtrack which led me to the shoegazer genre & 90s Brit rock :)
