This is an 80s television serial made in Singapore and screened in a time when such productions were well-made with strong story plots and character development.

Even the songs are so elegantly and poetically written - Just take the last three lines of the song which describes the passage of time as how one's sideburns were observed to be now weathered; and how on looking back, it has been a hundred years and that the hardwork of our ancestors won our nation thousands of tall buildings. Now, how is this for National Education (or what the Americans would call citizenship education : )!
