Sashimi at Kampachi, Kuala Lumpur

Dash and her colleague stumbled upon Kampachi at the Equatorial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur last May. Despite having seen the steep prices listed in their menu, in a fit of madness, we decided to have our dinner there to satisfy our craving for sushi.

And a right choice we made, it was.

The sashimi (below) was excellent - fresh and light.
Another mental note that Dash made was that with this particular cut of the scallop, it appear to increase the chewiness index of the scallop.

That was also the first time Dash tried the tuna belly and sea urchin. Dash's colleague used to be a waitress at a high-end Japanese restaurant and she recommended that Dash try these two Japanese cuisine delicacies.

OMG, they were so good! The taste of the ocean expresses itself so accurately  through the uni-sushi. 'Nuff Said!

We also ordered the grilled unagi, an absolute must for hot summers : ) The pink and white stick of ginger adds some crunch to the dish :D

A most awesome experience this is! Dash will try to be back here at Kampachi again - Now, to find the Galloping Geographer and to plan a food trip with him! :D
