Green it all!

At the 4th watercolours class on Thursday evening, the teacher got us to do a monochromatic painting by copying from a full colour picture. This means that we could only use one colour to make different tonal values/shades of the same one colour to create the same picture.

And of course since Dash likes green (plus everyone else seems to all be doing brown, blue and black), green it was then! Let's green it all! :D

And so above is a landscape painting using only green with its different tonal values.

However, the real McCoy is in taking a black and white picture of the painting - that way, the different values of the colours will show up. And here below is the same painting in black and white shot:


Monochrome painting can take a while to do but it can be really satisfying! : ) Dash likes pretending that she is a primitive camera trying to capture the picture in one colour! ^_^
