Virgin Scrabble Player beats them all!
SPRD's very own Kin Wee, a self-confessed virgin scrabble player, beat his opponents at the quarter-finals for the MCYS Inter-House scrabble competition this afternoon.
When this reporter asked Kin Wee how he felt when he was announced the winner, Kin Wee, in his usual calm collected tone, said that he felt "ok". A very modest answer, for a first-timer scrabble player. His cubicle neighbour (who declined to be named) said, "This morning, Kin Wee did not even know how the scrabble board looks like! And now, within a few hours, he has won and beat the rest!"
When asked if Kin Wee, now the experienced scrabble player, had a few tips for budding virgin scrabble players or scrabble champions-wannabe. Kin Wee was keen and generous to share, "There is a strategy, You make it difficult for them [his opponents] to form words." Well, this is the first time this reporter has seen our SPRD's very own gentle and non-assuming Kin Wee making things difficult for other MCYS colleagues!
After the mobbing by some SPRDians at Kin Wee's cubicle, his best friend, a certain Mr Hoon (also otherwise known as Chief), also dropped by Kin Wee's cubicle to congratulate him on his winning.
Of course, Kin Wee, who will not be resting on his laurels, will go ahead to compete in the semi-finals soon.
